Congratulations to Sofia Cazzaniga!

Congratulations to Sofia Cazzaniga!

On Wednesday 25, 2024 our student Sofia Cazzaniga has successfully discussed her thesis on a “User-centred DL-based model for emotion recognition in music”.

Congratulations to Sofia for her hard-earned success!

Sofia is our first student from the interuniversity M.Sc. course in Artificial Intelligence for Science ad Technology, which is almost turning three years old!

We are looking forward to the possibility of working with more students on the topics carried on by Sofia and ready for the next graduation sessions.

P.S. Prof. Gasparini was also serving as President of the AI graduation session for the first time. Congratulations!

“Deep learning in motor imagery EEG signal decoding: A Systematic Review” is out now!

After a very long process, the systematic review written with Dr. Eda Dagdevir and Dr. Hafez Ghaemi is finnaly out!

In this work we investigate the advances in DL-based models for electroencephalographic (EEG) signal decoding in case of motor imagery tasks.
We focus on papers exploiting publicly available datasets and provide some insights on different decoding paradigms, while giving some general guidelines for research sharing and reporting.

Elsevier has given us a limited time free access to our paper, which is available at https://authors.elsevier.com/a/1jnTy3INukSKAf

We hope this work will help you in kickstarting your DL-based EEG projects!

Davide Chicco @CIBB 2024

Last week our colleague Davide Chicco has attended the 19th conference on Computational Intelligence methods for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics with a double hat: steering committee member and author.

On Thursday, September 5th, he presented the work “Longitudinal clustering on electronic mental health records reveals meaningful groups of disease trajectories” co-authored with Patrizia Ribino, Claudia Di Napoli, Giovanni Paragliola, Luca Serino, and Francesca Gasparini.

On Friday, September 6th, he presented the work “A method based on DBSCAN clustering to measure UMAP dimensionality reduction results” co-authored with Giuseppe Jurman and Francesca Gasparini.

Congratulations for the huge success, Davide!

Do not forget to follow Davide for more updates on his research and on the upcoming events he is involved in 🙂
